Dewey played at Bishop Eustace Prep in New Jersey where he is currently the South Jersey record holder for hits in a season (69) and career hits (178). He was named to the All-South Jersey, All-State and All-Region and All-American Teams during the 2005 & 2006 seasons. Additionally, he was selected as the 2005 South Jersey Player of the Year. He would help guide his 2004 and 2006 teams to New Jersey Parochial B State Championships. Dewey would then go on to play collegiately at Saint Joseph’s University (PA-Division I). He was named All-Region, Honorable Mention All-Atlantic 10 and Philadelphia Big Five All-Academic teams in 2009. In 2010, he finished his career with an All-Atlantic 10 Second Team Selection.
From 2011-2014, Dewey served as Widener University (PA-Division III) Hitting Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. During that span, he mentored eleven All-Commonwealth Conference hitters and six All-Mid Atlantic Regional selections. He played a vital role in coaching the 2014 Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year. The 2014 team also clinched the MAC Commonwealth Conference championship. In 2015, he was the Recruiting Coordinator at DeSales University (PA-Division III). Six players went on to earn All-Conference accolades. Dewey also served three summers as Assistant Coach (2014 & 2015) for the South Jersey Giants and Head Coach (2016) for the Quakertown Blazers of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League (ACBL). Most recently, Dewey transitioned to the high school level (2018-2019) where he was appointed Associate Head Coach at The King’s Christian School in Cherry Hill, NJ. The 2018 season culminated with the team winning its first-ever NACA (National Association of Christian Athletes) Division I National Championship. He continues to play an active role in working with high school athletes throughout the Mid-Atlantic region while serving as an instructor/coach at Scanzano Sports Center.
Dewey currently resides with his wife, Kerri, in New Jersey.
