We would like to congratulate Connor Markl on his commitment to Grand Canyon University. Here are Connor’s recruiting story and interview after his commitment. Good luck as an Antelope!

1. Share your recruiting story and status
I started reaching out to college coaches during the beginning of my junior year. Phone calls with some coaches began shortly after, but I did not see the results I was hoping for right away. To be very honest, the process was both exciting and stressful. Finding the best place for me athletically and academically was a huge decision and something I took very seriously. My goal was to find a place where I could succeed academically, as a baseball player, and as a person. There were a lot of sleepless nights and days where I was not sure what I was going to do. Staying calm and evaluating all of my options helped make my decision easier. I looked to my family, friends, and coaches for any help I could get, and they were a big help in my decision.

2. What school are you going to, and why did you choose them?
I made the decision to continue my baseball and academic career at Grand Canyon University. The baseball program, coaches, and academics were just a few reasons why I chose this school. Their progression over the past few years and their overall performance make them a solid contender for conference champions for years to come. I want to be a part of that.

3. How did SportsForce help in the process?
Andrew was a major help for me and my family during my process. I called him for advice and questions I had regarding the schools I was interested in. His answers helped and gave me clarity regarding what I might be looking for in schools and baseball programs.

4. What advice would you give to other players and parents with the recruiting process?
The advice I would give is to not worry about what others are doing and to focus solely on yourself and what you can control. Worrying about others will add unnecessary stress in this already difficult process. This process happens once in a lifetime and enjoy it while it lasts.

5. How excited are you on your future in college?
I am ecstatic to begin the next chapter in my athletic and academic career. I am ready to improve myself on and off the field and to help GCU in any way I can.

6. How much money do you estimate your family saving in college expenses over the entirety of your college career? (Includes, Athletic scholarships, Academic scholarships, & financial aid)
Between the athletic and academic scholarship, my family will be paying very little for my college education.

7. Would you recommend SportsForce to any other student-athletes? Why?
I would recommend Sportsforce to others because of their hands on approach and their desire to help all their athletes achieve their goals of playing college baseball.

Over the last 10 years, SportsForce has helped over 1,000 student-athletes and families successfully navigate the college recruiting and athletic scholarship process while saving families on average $80,000 in college expenses.

Read below, why we are different from every recruiting group in the country.

Why SportsForce is Different:

* View our Home Page Video Unlike most recruiting companies, we do not just partner with anyone for our hands-on recruiting programs.  Instead, we only partner with qualified players who meet our Five academic, athletic, and coachability selection factors
We evaluate between 10,000-12,000 players each summer and fall at top showcases and selectively advise, and advocate for only a limited number of players each year by directly contacting college coaches to help them maximize recruiting offers.
Each of our expert college recruiters is limited to how many players they will advise so there is the best combination of hands-on guidance and personal recruiting outreach to college coaches.
