Brandon Black joins SportsForce with an extensive baseball resume and background. Brandon was born in Covington,KY. He attended Boone Co High School where he was named 1st Team All-Region and Regional MVP as a sophomore. As a junior he was named 1st team All-Region, 1st team All-State and NKY Player of the Year. As a Senior he was 1st Team All Region, 1st Team All-State and signed a full scholarship to the University of Kentucky. During his HS career, Brandon played Summer Ball for the Midland Organization. In 1993, his Midland Redskins team won their 3rd straight National Championship, winning the Connie Mack World Series. After a year at UK, Brandon decided to transfer to Pensacola Junior College where he was named the 1995 Panhandle Conference Player of the Year, Florida Junior College Player of the Year, 1st-team All-State, and named to the 1st-Team Junior College All-American team. During the fall of 94', Brandon committed to the University of Alabama. The summer of 95' he was drafted in the 34th round by the NY Mets and decided to sign a professional contract. Brandon played 2 full seasons with the Mets winning the Appalachian League Championship in 1995.
After his professional career, Brandon took some time away from baseball to start a family and has recently became a player evaluator with the Midland Organization in Cincinnati, OH. Brandon has continued evaluating baseball youth talent for the past five years in the Cincinnati/NKY area. Brandon currently resides in Hebron, Kentucky.
