I am submitting a recommendation of Gabbie Wiley, Hannibal High School, Hannibal, MO, as a promising college volleyball player.


I am a former 20 year, 623 victories, volleyball coach at Culver-Stockton College, Canton, MO, who upon retirement agreed to coach for three years, Gabbie’s club volleyball team located in Hannibal, MO. The team had excellent success while playing some of the best club teams in the Midwest. Over this three-year period, the team was 82-22, and in 2009 capped off a 30-3 season by winning the prestigious Omaha Presidents Day Classic.


Gabbie is a strong, left-handed, right side hitter, with a 27” vertical. She also played all six rotations and was one of our primary passers. Having coached college volleyball, I know that Gabbie is going to be a special player at that level. Not only is she dedicated to the game and to the team, but also she is an extremely smart player. She has the “it” factor on the court and is a game changer; all while being one of the most “coachable” athletes I have encountered. Gabbie also has the inner desire to be great, while possessing fundamental skills that will blend for success in college.


I am not aware of her stats. I only know that she has high volleyball potential, coupled with leadership and effort. I know that if I were coaching now, I would rate her extremely high on my prospect list, and I would feel fortunate to have her play for me.
