I have had the pleasure of coaching Tom over the last few years, in our off season High Performance programs, and in the NSW Representative team at last years' Nationals. Tom exhibits true professionalism when he steps on to the diamond, whether it be at practice or on game day. Having a friendly, quiet demeanour, Tom is very much a team player, and is well respected amongst his peers. Tom has an athletic, strong build, and exhibits power at the plate, coupled with a patient eye, and he is the guy to have at the plate in those "needed" moments. Tom has a very safe set of hands at 1st Base, and fields this position very well. He is the calming influence of any team, with his cool, but confident approach, with a strong passion for the game, and a strong desire to succeed.

I have known Tom Horne now for 3 years, in this time he has excelled at all levels of his Baseball. Tom hits for power as well as good contact. He has great plate awareness and can determine the pitch early on. Tom is a highly capable defensive first baseman however is not limited to showing his versatility in other positions such as 3rd base, outfield and throws a heavy ball off the mound. An all round great kid and an asset to any team he is on - a very valued team member with all playing groups.

Tom is a player with the Canterbury Vikings and an athlete at Endeavour Sports High School Targeted Sports Program. He has represented NSW in the under 14's and under 16's National Youth Championships and represented Australia in the U15 World Cup in Iwaki in 2016. He is a highly focussed dedicated athlete in all aspects of training and playing the game of baseball. He is highly motivated with good work ethics and very coachable taking instructions and making adjustments as a hitter and positional player. He has a strong athletic body. He makes consistent contact at the plate with above average gap-to-gap power. Tom plays the corner infield positions with excellent reaction time with soft hands and displays good range. In the outfield he shows excellent range and above average arm strength. Tom is a mature leader and encourages and helps his teammates perform at a high level for his club, state and school team. Tom has the personal drive and dedication and I have no hesitation in recommending Tom as a baseball student at a USA College.

Tom is a big athletic kid who is a 2way guy with power at the plate and on the mound. He has long levers and a strong lower and upper half and has had great success in baseball at a young age. He throws with a heavy ball from the mound. He has always been a very coachable player that carries himself professionally and has a strong work ethic.
