PERSONAL STATEMENT
I enjoy being a Student-Athlete because it allows me to combine my work habits on the field and apply them to academics like grinding out my work and doing my work to the best of my abilities. I am a team guy and I will do anything for my team in order to win. An example of this is, batting second in the order in High School, I proudly would sacrifice my at bat to help my lead off batter (a very successful base stealer) be in situations to take extra bases, whether it's taking a strike down the middle, laying down a bunt or trying to cause havoc other ways, to get him moved over. I try to lead by example rather than vocally, so I let my work ethic and attitude speak for itself. I have a high baseball IQ and understand the game within the game well. Also, I am a scrappy ballplayer, so I will do anything within my abilities to always give myself the best opportunity to succeed. Finally, I am very proud that I was #2 in QAB for my high school team and led my summer team in QAB and batted #1 or #2 for both teams.
