PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am multi sport student athlete with a passion for baseball. This has taught me to take a disciplined approach in my everyday life. I will apply this mentality as I transition to college to study business, while pursuing my dream to play baseball as long as possible. I am a direct impact player offensively and defensively. I thrive as a middle infielder and know how to lead a team to provide constant team momentum. I look forward to representing my college with pride by staying dedicated to my role as a student athlete and showing respect and loyalty to my teachers, coaches and team mates.

Recommendation: This letter is a letter of recommendation Maguire Peterson, current Junior student-athlete at Notre Dame Preparatory High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. Maguire is a two-sport athlete competing both in basketball and baseball for his high school. He is a returning starter for his current high school team and has tremendous upside as a baseball prospect.

My name is Joseph Ponce and I am the Head Varsity Baseball Coach and Physical Education Teacher at Desert Ridge High School in Mesa, Arizona. I have been teaching at the high school level for nearly 6 years teaching Physical Education and Health. I’ve coached high school baseball for 10 years both in Arizona as well as California. Along with coaching interscholastic high school baseball, I am also in my 3rd year coaching for the Angels Amateur Baseball Academy in Tempe, Arizona working exclusively with the class of 2021. In the last decade coaching and teaching I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of student athletes. I’ve had over a dozen of my former student-athletes go onto successful careers as student-athletes at the collegiate level.

I have known Maguire for nearly two years and am fortunate to be able to continue to coach him this summer as well as a part of the Angels Amateur Academy. Not only is he one of the most advanced players in our academy, he is definitely the hardest working athlete we have. I coached him briefly during the fall of his sophomore year in the highly regarded AZ Fall Classic in 2018 when he was a member of my club team. Maguire went on later that spring as a sophomore to contribute as a middle infielder at Notre Dame Prep, a powerhouse 5A baseball school. Maguire also contributed at the plate for his team and came in clutch in many important situations. Maguire spent the summer of 2019 competing with the AZ Athletics Founders Club team and played in numerous high-level tournaments while continuing to focus on his speed and strength training. Maguire returned to the Angels for the fall 2019 season and had a breakout fall season both at the plate and at shortstop facing college pitching for a majority of the fall. Maguire was also selected to play in the Wilson Premier Classic back in September as part of Wilson Premier’s 2021 Scout Team and performed well while playing numerous positions defensively.
Additional Information: Maguire is also a tremendous student currently carrying a 3.56 GPA with a very rigorous course load at Notre Dame Prep. He is a natural athlete and was a contributing member of his Varsity basketball team both in his junior season this past winter as well as in his sophomore year. His attention to detail to his strength training, speed training and nutrition are several things that set him apart from other high school athletes. Maguire is a true competitor and wants to earn every bit of playing

Recommendation: I am writing this letter on behalf of Maguire Peterson, whom I have the pleasure to coach for the past three years. Maguire brings an enthusiasm and passion for the game of baseball the minute he steps on the field. His work ethic, hard work, and coachability separates him from others. His athletic ability has helped him excel in multiple sports in High School, and with hard work in the weight room, and classroom, he’s going to be able to help a program in the future. Maguire upholds the values we carry at NDP, Reverence, Respect, Responsibility, and will carry that to wherever he ends up.
Additional Information: Maguire will elevate any program he is a part of, and I would be happy to speak to any prospective coach that is interested in having Maguire be a part of their program.
Sincerely,
Brian Fischer

Recommendation: To whom it may concern,

Maguire Peterson has been training with me at my facility for the last year as well with coaching him on and off for the last 3 years at Notre Dame Prep, and in that time I’ve seen exponential growth in his baseball skill set. We went through a throwing program to clean up some arm action issues, as well as build some arm strength to give more positional diversity. He showed the ability to make foundational changes to his arm path/action, and in turn took his max shuffle step velocity from 74mph to 84mph in 2 ½ months of the program. His bat speed and rotational power increased with that as well. Along with the arm action and bat speed gains, Maguire spent 3+ days in the weight room weekly to add some weight/durability to his already athletic, wiry frame. As he continues to progress physically he will continue to improve his on field abilities. The best attribute Maguire has is that he is extremely coachable and has a work ethic second to none for his age group. He shows up early, stays late, asks questions and is great around teammates and staff members.
Additional Information: Maguire is a Division 1 baseball player, and has the tools to progress past that. Any coach/program would be lucky to have a person like Maguire in their program. He is a winner and is never complacent with his abilities. Please feel free to reach out with any questions regarding Maguire, 602-568-2291.

Recommendation: I am writing this letter on behalf of Maguire Peterson, a junior at Notre Dame Prep High School in Scottsdale Arizona. I am the Varsity Basketball Coach at Notre Dame Prep where Maguire has been part of the program for the past three years. Over the last three years I have gotten to know Maguire and have watched him grow as a young man and an athlete.

Maguire is a multi-sport athlete and excels both on the court and on the diamond. His work ethic is outstanding. He truly gives 100% on every rep whether it be in practice, the games or the weight room. He is such a joy to coach because you know he will play to exhaustion and give you everything he has in the tank. On top of his work ethic and athleticism he is a smart, positive young man who always brings the best out of his teammates. Maguire is always smiling, happy and that positivity rubs off on his teammates. Even though baseball is his #1 sport, Maguire has been a huge asset to us on the court as well. He is the type of player that does all the little things that helps us win games that doesn’t show up in the stat sheet. He is always in position, always knows what is going on, sacrifices his body, and defensively is able to guard the other teams best player. A short story on his commitment level to his team. Maguire left for a weekend to go a baseball camp to play in front of a few coaches. I had no reservations with him going, because I knew he would be ready to go for our game Tuesday. Maguire livestreamed our practice and was able to watch on the plane. He asked for our scouting report, new plays, and practice plan ahead of time so he could be ready when he got back. Needless to say it all payed off and he didn’t miss a beat. I cannot say enough positive things about Maguire, he would be an asset to any team not just because of his talent, but because of his ability to make your dugout/locker room a positive one!

Additional Information: As an educator and coach I believe Maguire epitomizes what a student/athlete should be. He possesses the qualities necessary to excel in college and in his future career. I give Maguire my highest recommendation with no reservations. If you need anything from me, please feel free to reach out. My email is coachdiemer@gmail.com and my cell is 480-223-8713.

Sincerely,
Kyle Diemer
