Title: 2018 U16 Vic Blue State Coach
Organization / School: Melbourne Aces State Academy

Recommendation: Mack is a catcher with a tall, strong build. He is a very solid defensive catcher with good receiving skills and technique, and compliments this with great blocking ability. He has a good feel for the game and senses when the pitcher is struggling and takes it upon himself to get them back on track. As a hitter he is improving every week and has an exit velocity in the upper 80’s, with more time, practice and experience he will turn into a potent offensive player. Mack’s biggest strength however is he is very coachable and takes instruction really well and is always striving to get better.

Recommendation: Mack is a great teammate and hard worker who will find a way to fit in and develop into a leader within your organization. He has improved tremendously and grown a lot in the past six months and has a very projectable frame. He is a good receiving catcher and developing his skills and abilities rapidly enough, that coupled with his coachability I could see him being a standout player at high-level college and/or junior college programs. He has had the advantage of playing senior baseball in Australia where they use wood bats from a young age so at a school swinging aluminum he will have a major advantage. The kids that I have seen leave our program here in Australia that were comparable to Mack have done very well and have earned Division 1 scholarships
Additional Information: After growing up in Phoenix, Arizona, I played college baseball for four years at Manhattan Christian College in Kansas, leading our team to the NCAA World Series four years in a row. I then coached at MCC while playing independent baseball and now have managed three seasons of professional baseball, most recently with a Championship in Bakersfield, CA. I worked for eight years as a batboy for Major League Baseball and have spent a lot of time around all levels of the game.
