PERSONAL STATEMENT

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Describe Your Playing Style?: While hitting and base running, I'm aggressive and focused, always looking to take the next base.
When pitching - attacking the inside part of the plate looking for ground ball outs.
Favorite Athlete(s) and why?: Jacob deGrom: I love the way he pitches, I aspire to pitch like him and have the work ethic he has.
Brandon Nimmo: I love the heart and hustle he puts into his club, he seems to be a natural leader for the future.
Who's been the biggest influence on my sports career and why?: The biggest influence on my sporting career would be my Mum, Nicole.
She has always been someone I could talk to and relate to. With her prior career in Olympic swimming and also being apart of the Australian Football League (AFL) she knows what sport is all about and always finds ways to steer and encourage me to try to be the best baseballer I can be, but being the best person I can be too.
She will always be there for me no matter what happens.
About Me: I’ve been playing baseball since I was 5 years old for Sandringham Royals Baseball Club. The feeling that I get when I’m playing is excitement and a sense of team. Whether it be going out for a start of a season or playing just a regular game. It’s the same feeling every single time you go out there. When I step on the mound, I feel as though for that moment in time, I’m the king of the world, with opportunity at my feet. That sound of the ball hitting the catcher's glove - it’s the most satisfying sound in the world. I’m in love with the game even when there are the days it doesn’t love me back. It’s always been clear to me that I wanted to play ball, but I didn’t just want to do that, I want to learn too, be a student of the game. In my future, I'll give it everything and if baseball doesn’t work, I would love to work in the sports management industry to assist athletes with their goals and dreams.
