Recommendation: To Whom It May Concern,
It is with great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Jake Brown. I have
been fortunate to coach Jake for one season so far, in the Ohio Elite organization. From just a
year in my dealings with Jake, he has shown to be a great leader and an extraordinarily hard
worker. Jake will be entering his junior year at Berkshire high school and will be on our 17u
Ohio Elite summer team during the 2020 season.
Jake has proved to be one of the hardest working student-athletes that I have coached so
far in my career. Not only has Jake excelled on the baseball field, but he has done a tremendous
job in the classroom as well. Jake has shown the ability to balance his schoolwork and busy
sports schedule, as he carries a 3.7 GPA. This is outstanding to see from a young man his age.
His high IQ will not only be found in the classroom, but on the field as well. Jake does an
excellent job of reading the situations and understanding the game. As a three-sport athlete
(baseball, basketball, football) he done an amazing job at excelling in each sport and has
exemplified attributes from each sport to help him become an overall better athlete.
Overall, Jake wants to keep getting better and better each day. Throughout our winter
and summer workouts, Jake never missed a practice. He would drive roughly an hour to come to
each workout. Everyday, Jake brought a great attitude and strived to be the best he could be.
This would be showcased when it came to our games during the summer, as he would normally
be our 4 th or 5 th hole batter and demonstrated tremendous pop. At the end of the season, he
finished with a .337 batting average and had 9 extra-base hits (2 doubles, 5 triples, and 2
homeruns). Jake has already showed he has enough power to drive the ball out of collegiate
fields. When it comes to playing the field, Jake showcased his ability to play many different
positions (SS, 2B, 3B, OF, P). Jake did not care where he would play or what situation we
brought him into pitch. At the end of the day, Jake is a team-first player. When his name is
called upon, he is not afraid to step up to the plate. You can often find Jake encouraging his
teammates and helping them become the best they can be.
I strongly believe that Jake Brown will be an asset to any program. He is a quick learner,
has a high motor, and will get the job done when his named is called upon. I have no doubt in
my mind that Jake will bring tremendous leadership, passion,team-spirit, and an outstanding
work-ethic to whatever program he eventually attends. I encourage you to give Jake strong consideration.

Sincerely,
Ty Schuch
