Recommendation: Letter of Recommendation

28 October 2020

To whom it may concern:
As a teacher and Head Baseball Coach at Aliso Niguel High School, I have spent a great deal of time working with Eli Gregerman on the baseball field. Eli is a strong defensive catcher who has worked very hard on improving his footwork, receiving and blocking skills, while a member of our baseball program. He shows a solid arm behind the plate, which commands the attention of any team that we are playing against. As a hitter, Eli has worked tirelessly on his swing. He has shown a solid approach from the right-side of the plate and has a good understanding of situational hitting. He is an unselfish player that will execute any offensive situation with the “teams” success in mind. Eli has also worked hard in the weight room and improved his overall strength. His added strength will help him continue to drive baseballs to the gaps, but also, at-times, drive the ball out of the ballpark.

Eli is also a vocal leader who has earned the respect of each of his teammates and coaching staff program-wide. He earned this respect because of his work-ethic and hustle on the field during competition and in practice. These qualities have made him an indispensable part of our baseball team. Eli is a young man who has put in the time, both on the field and off the field, and has a strong passion for the game of baseball. He will be an asset to any baseball team that
he plays on.

Sincerely,

Craig Hanson

Recommendation: Eli is a great student of the game, constantly looking to better himself and his baseball intelligence. His schedule is filled with getting extra work in to be a better player and teammate.

Eli’s receiving and footwork behind the plate have improved significantly as he continues to work individually and in bullpen sessions with his pitching staff. He is a quiet receiver with a commanding presence who knows how to control the strike zone with his receiving. This allows him to build trust with his pitching staff to use their entire repertoire of pitches and locations. His footwork and blocking help him to limit extra bases through stolen bases and balls in the dirt.

Eli has been able to tap into using his lower half when in the box and makes consistent hard contact. He is a gap to gap hitter with potential to develop pull side power as he continues to work on catching pitches more out front.

Eli is a great young man with an ever positive attitude that will make a great addition for any program. I look forward to his future as he continues to progress.
Additional Information: Colton played 4 seasons at LMU and 6 seasons in the Mets organization
