Basketball has played a huge roll in my life and personal development. When I first started playing the game I've always had the goal of playing at the next level and I've worked tirelessly to try and obtain that. Basketball has always been an escape for me and provides me with a good balance towards my academic career. I'm ecstatic in trying to further my career in both basketball and academics.

I have had the pleasure of coaching Corey Jones for the 2016 club season. Corey played on our 17u team which we had the honor of playing in the highest division of every tournament we participated in and competed against the top teams in the west.
Corey is a big part of our team playing anywhere from the 2 position where with his size he can easily create his own shot, to the 3-4 position when we go small where he has no problem offensively and defensively handling larger wings.

Dear Recruiter/Coach,
There are certain traits that help to define a person as they mature into a young adult; character, integrity, honesty and accountability are all qualities that blend together in order to create a student who is well prepared for post-secondary education and athletics. Corey Jones is a part of the 2017 graduating class at Chaparral High School, in Scottsdale, Arizona, and is a prime example of what it means to display these qualities in a young man. Corey is a person that strives for success in every endeavor that he faces, and he is able to define his success as his opportunity to be the best that he can be at that particular time. He holds himself to the highest of standards, and is always determined to make a positive impact in any situation. His accomplishments are due to his constant focus and determination to make great decisions with every choice that he is faced with.
Corey is a competitor both in life and also on the basketball court. He was integral part of our varsity basketball team this past season and contributed in all facets of the game. He has a great basketball IQ and understands the rhythm and flow of the game. Offense is his strong suit, as he is able to knock down shots from inside the paint, to mid-range and even beyond out to the 3 point line. He has a knack for the ball and is able to accumulate those “garbage points” by collecting offensive rebounds and finishing around the basket. One of the focuses of the Chaparral team is to play with an up-tempo style and space the floor. Corey fits this system well as he can space the floor with his ability to shoot the ball and also finish in transition on the fast break. He sees the floor well and makes the extra passes to open shooters and will attack the defense through penetration to create opportunities for himself and his teammates.
He has a passion for the game, and it is evident when plays. Corey constantly brings the effort and energy to every practice and game. It is fun to watch a player like Corey compete because he will always do his best to help put his team in a position to be successful.
