PERSONAL STATEMENT
Having the title of a student-athlete is extremely important to me. I've put in a lot of work and energy into the sport of baseball and I'm determined to continue putting in the work to continue my baseball career. I'm looking for a university or college that will help develop me for the next level of baseball and prepare me for life in my chosen major outside of baseball.

Recommendation: March 30th 2018
Cade Nicol is a RHP out of West Ranch HS (Valencia, CA). Cade is currently one of our top 3 pitchers on our staff. Our other two pitchers are committed to Loyola Marymount and UC Santa Barbara but has outperformed both this year. He is an aggressive and confident pitcher on the mound. He is highly competitive, especially with a very strong schedule for us this year. Earlier in season he out-pitched his Stockdale HS counterpart (UCLA Commit, Sean Mullen). His potential is continually growing as he realizes how good of a pitcher he is. His FB velocity will be reaching 88-89 by the end of this Fall. However his ability to throw 3 pitches for strikes is what separates him, as well as his demeanor. He's the same on the mound whether he has runners on or if he is in full control of the other team.
Additional Information: Jim is also a part of the West Ranch baseball staff, but I spend most of my time with "Wags", as we affectionately call him, working out 3-4 days a week, building up our velocity. Wagner mirrors much of his training after Ron Wolforth's Texas Baseball Ranch, that does the same thing, work with pitchers and building their bodies to throw harder.

Recommendation: Cade Nicol is a tremendous young man who is the type of student-athlete that will be a great fit for your
college baseball program. He is a hard-worker who is blessed with the talent of pitching at the next level.
As a baseball player, Cade is able to compete with three pitches and will use all three in various counts at
any time. He will work his fastball in-out-up-down to establish a wide strike zone while keeping hitters
unable to guess location. Also, he will throw a plus-curveball and plus-changeup to routinely keep hitters
off-balance from pitch-to-pitch and at-bat-to-at-bat.
As a student, Cade is one of our leaders in the classroom boasting a GPA between a 3.5 and 4.0. He is able
to balance the difficult course load demanded by our school with a demanding baseball schedule and excel.
As a person, Cade is smart, funny, and caring. He confident in himself and makes others around him better.
He is a great teammate and I enjoy being able to coach him.
If you’re looking for a pitcher who is going to be dedicated to your program, who can compete with a wide variety
of pitches at any time, and who will not shy away from the big moment, please make a roster spot
for Cade on your team.
Thank you,

Recommendation: In the years I’ve known Cade, there are a few things that stand out about him beyond the norm. The norm is his natural athleticism. He’s built like an athlete and moves like an athlete. He’s a great teammate that understands that putting in extra work is not optional if you want to be great.

What stands out about Cade are two things: his attitude, and his competitive spirit. Cade has a calming presence about him that assures teammates that “we’re ok”, even in the midst of adversity. Secondly, and most importantly, it is his competitive spirit. Cade doesn’t play to play well. Cade doesn’t play to look good. Cade plays, or should I say competes, to win. Winning is what matters most to him.
