PERSONAL STATEMENT
Being a student-athlete is very important to me. I love to challenge myself and compete, and being part of a team has always taught me valuable life lessons. It also has given me balance to my academics. In High School, I have been a four-year scholar-athlete. I have been honored to represent my school on and off the field. I am a hard-working and dedicated competitor. I have volunteered to mentor, and help teach the sport of baseball to the youth in my community and I strive to lead by example. I even umpire in our local little league where I really have my own great memories when we finished 3rd in the state during the year-end LL Tournament! I am committed to being a college athlete and will put in the time and work hard to be the best player and student I can be. Baseball has been a huge part of my life and personal development since I was four years old. My goal is to keep playing baseball for as long as I possibly can. I am also looking forward to pursuing a career if I don’t get drafted by the Phillies, although I’m still undecided. Yes, that was a joke, but not really. On the field, since I was a young child, I’ve always took pride in really knowing the game. I’d wake up an hour before school in kindergarten just to watch Sports Center updates on the evening games. I not only learned so much from my dad who coached me when I was younger, but from watching so much baseball on television. This deep knowledge has really helped me in always knowing what I’m doing with the ball before it’s hit to me. I just really understand this game like no other.
