PERSONAL STATEMENT
Hello, my name is AJ Keely and I was born on August 10, 2005. I am going to be a sophomore at Horizon high school in Scottsdale, Arizona in the fall of 2020. I am currently 5’8” and 135 pounds. I throw and hit right handed and I primarily play shortstop and pitcher. My secondary positions are second and third base. I have played the game of baseball for over 10 years now and I love it because of how much fun I have. I have fun with all the teammates I have ever had and just the game itself gives me joy. All of my coaches have helped me get better over time and I appreciate them for it. When I am not playing baseball, I like to hang out with friends and play video games with my friends. I also try to work out almost every day And I will always have something going on that has to do with baseball, whether it is summer ball with my club team or training for high school ball in the fall and winter or playing with my high school team in the spring. My entire family has been supporting me every step of the way and they helped me who I have become today. In college, I would like to major in either criminal justice or business fields. I find forensics very interesting and I am taking the class right now in high school. I batted lead off in freshman year for the freshman team and I led the team in hitting in our shortened season, batting over .630 in 4 games including 5 walks. The type of player I am is a plus defender with excellent instincts and baseball IQ. I am a line drive hitter that lives gap to gap. i am a hard worker and consider myself a leader among my teammates. In looking forward to college, i’m looking to find a program where it feels like i belong and have the opportunity to earn playing time.
