Recommendation: "Andy Eakes has finished two seasons of varsity baseball under my coaching at Clariemont High school. He has been a two year varsity starter as an infielder as well as a pitcher. Andy has a great attitude about life, school, and baseball. He is always upbeat and conversational. It has been a pleasure to work with Andy thus far. He is very excited to enter into the college recruiting aspect of his baseball career. I think Andy has the attributes necessary to be a collegiate baseball player. Throughout the last season Andy has begun to step up and assume a role as a leader on our team.
He encourages other players to help the team and play as best they can. He has participated in many team meetings and important team and individual goal setting situations that have helped our program build in the last few years. Andy's leadership has been a major part of rebuilding the Clairemont High School baseball program. Andy plays both first and third base effectively and dominates his opponents on the mound. As a hitter Andy has had great success in high school since the beginning of his first season. He hits for power often and has a well developed swing. He is more fundamentally sound that 95% of his peers and you can see that he has had a great deal of training in all aspects of the game. He is constantly striving to learn more and improve as much as possible and is a very coachable player. He is also willing to work in the weight room to improve his game in other ways as well. Andy is a two time first team all league player and was in the running for pitcher of the year this past season. I have no doubt he will be the p8itcher of the year in both the next two seasons and will likely become the player of the year as well, as his offensive talents are outweighing the competition. I believe any coach would be happy to have Andy Eakes as a part of their program. He will contribute to the success of any baseball program.”
