Mark brings 19 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level, including 12 years with NCAA Division 1 programs. He has spent time at some of the nation’s premier collegiate baseball teams, including University of San Diego, Saint Mary’s (CA), San Diego State and California Berkeley.
A native of East Los Angeles, California, Mark Viramontes began his coaching career as an assistant junior varsity coach at Garfield High School (1996) in Los Angeles and a varsity assistant at San Gabriel High School (1997-1998). He went on to work as an Associate Scout for the Cincinnati Reds, evaluating baseball talent in inner-city schools.
Mark currently resides in San Diego with his wife Carmen and his daughter Olivia.
