Josh Ury is originally from Parsippany, NJ where he attended Parsippany Hills High School. Josh was a standout student-athlete where he earned 10 varsity letters in 3 sports, Wrestling, Football and Baseball. He was all-county in Wrestling, an All Area Running Back in Football and was All State his Junior and Senior Years in High School. Josh then committed to play baseball at the Winthrop University on a scholarship. He was a 4 year starter at Winthrop, Named captain by his teammates his Junior and Senior Year. He was a 2 time All Conference, and All Tournament First Baseman. He had a Career .295 average, and is in the top 10 in three offensive categories including: hits, games played, and doubles. He signed as a non-drafted free agent after the '01 season.
After his pro career he returned to Parsippany Hills High School to teach Physical Education. He holds a Masters degree in K-12 Assessment and Learning. Josh was the Head Baseball Coach at Morristown High School from ’07 to ’13. His teams won back-to-back county championships and one state sectional title. He coached 17 college baseball players in that time frame including 5 at the Division 1 level as well as the NJ State Player of the Year in 2010. He is now the Varsity Assistant Coach at Roxbury High School. They have won back-to-back county titles the last two years he has been with the program. He has also gives private lessons throughout NJ and is the roving instructor for the travel program the Morris County Cubs. Josh brings over 18 years of high school coaching and professional baseball experience and truly believes he can relate with the athletes and their families to help them through this college process.
