Andy’s college playing career began under current SportsForce advisor Ryan Thompson at Santa Barbara City College in 2011. There he would be selected as an all-conference second baseman, helping lead the program to its highest finish in school history. He would receive another all-conference selection his redshirt sophomore year at SBCC, and spend time playing for 2014 PacWest Champion Dixie State University and then Biola University in 2015. He was also a member of the 2013 National Champion Brazos Valley Bombers of the TCL (as ranked by Perfect Game).
Andy began his coaching career at Biola in 2016, where he spent nearly three years assisting head coach Jay Sullenger turn around a previously struggling program. In addition to working with hitters, baserunners, and outfielders, his contributions were most notable in recruiting and summer ball placement. Andy developed a vast network through recruiting and summer ball placement for Biola in a short period of time. After a few other coaching stints, Andy spent several years working with young ballplayers as a private hitting instructor in Southern California, with over 30 clients in the span of three years.
“As a coach, I am passionate about learning more about the ins and outs of the game, finding small competitive advantages against an opponent, and helping players utilize their bodies for more functional and efficient patterns of movement to maximize their potential. College baseball is a world that leads to significant growth and teaches valuable life lessons for young men, and helping these young men find their place in that world and seeing that growth is a deep passion of mine."
Andy has his Masters of Science in Kinesiology from California Baptist University. In August 2018, Andy married his bride Suzannah, and they currently reside in Las Vegas, NV.
