Wil Schommer was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona where he played high school baseball for Perry High School. When Wil was a child, he survived a rare pediatric cancer (neuroblastoma) after enduring six rounds of chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, and radiation. He went on to take Perry’s inaugural 5a baseball team into the Arizona 5A2 State Championship game.
Scoring a 25 ACT and a 1473 SAT he chose the Division 3 route attending Austin College (Sherman, TX) where he majored in Communication and minored in Exercise and Sports Science. Wil went on to be the captain his senior season and hit for a .312 batting average. Wil currently resides in McKinney, TX. He trains and develops youth and high school athletes/ballplayers with Academy Select Baseball at Centerfield Training Academy in Plano, TX.
