We would like to congratulate Jackson Ware on his commitment to Millsaps College. Here are Jackson’s recruiting story and interview with his family. Good luck as a Major!

1. Share your recruiting story and status

Initially focused entirely on D1 schools with good academics…but continued chasing D1 even when it meant sacrificing every other factor we were looking for in a school.  Finally, had to re-assess and re-focus on the type of school we wanted, regardless of division.  The process was everything from exciting to frustrating.  Hearing from schools who liked you, were told “we like you, you’re definitely D1 material, but….” And then various reasons why they couldn’t/wouldn’t offer.

2. What school are you going to, and why did you choose them

Millsaps College.  It checked all the boxes we were looking for in a school first…then their interest in me for baseball and I really liked the coaches.

3. How did SportsForce help in the process?

SportsForce helped with organizing the message to coaches and pointing us in the right direction.  Most importantly, they added another advocate who had contacts with various schools and could help point those coaches to at least take a look at our son.

4. What advice would you give to other players and parents with the recruiting process?

Start early and get a video!  Identify schools you like and hit their camps if you think there is some interest.  Never attend a multiple school camp without first reaching out to those schools there that you have interest in – but we did see value in those type of camps (Headfirst/Showball).  Regardless of how early you start, don’t discount sub-D1 schools and get on their radar early too.

5. How excited are you on your future in college?

Very!  I’m very excited, particularly given my senior year is probably over but I know my baseball career is not over.  Not all of my teammates who are seniors can say that.

6. How much money do you estimate your family saving in college expenses over the entirety of your college career?

D3 schools are only academic but have more money to give out because of this.  Our son’s scholarship is worth $112,000 over four years.

7. Would you recommend SportsForce to any other student-athletes? Why?  Definitely.  Unless you are one of those players already on every school’s radar, a player serious about playing college baseball needs an advocate and advisor through the process.  Trying to do it blindly means you will likely fly under the radar for a majority of schools.

Over the last 10 years, SportsForce has helped over 1,000 student-athletes and families successfully navigate the college recruiting and athletic scholarship process while saving families on average $80,000 in college expenses.

Our Mission at SportsForce Baseball:

We are on a mission to help our select number of qualified and evaluated players maximize their recruiting offers and make the best college decision.

Started by CEO & founder Andrew Beinbrink, SportsForce Baseball is a nationally recognized college recruiting advisory group with over 40 former college coaches, players, and MLB scouts in 10 different states.

Read below, why we are different from every recruiting group in the country.

Why SportsForce is Different:

* View our Home Page Video Unlike most recruiting companies, we do not just partner with anyone for our hands-on recruiting programs.  Instead, we only partner with qualified players who meet our Five academic, athletic, and coachability selection factors

We evaluate between 10,000-12,000 players each summer and fall at top showcases and selectively advise, and advocate for only a limited number of players each year by directly contacting college coaches to help them maximize recruiting offers.

Each of our expert college recruiters is limited to how many players they will advise so there is the best combination of hands-on guidance and personal recruiting outreach to college coaches.
