We would like to congratulate Blake Janowicz on his commitment to Sonoma State University. Here are Blake’s recruiting story and interview with his family. Good luck as a seawolves!

1. Share your recruiting story and status

The process for recruiting was both simple and difficult. SportsForce provided me with college coaches’ emails and phone numbers so that I could reach out to them. Thankfully, Ryan had a scripted email for myself that detailed my interest for the college and links to my recruiting videos. When the time came to talking to coaches, I could easily reference a cheat sheet of questions to ask the coaches. I was complimented numerous times on how good my questions were. The difficult part of the recruiting process only came when I had to chose which college I was most interested in and could see myself at for the next four years. Sonoma State stood out to me the most as I have committed to play baseball there on June 16th.

2. What school are you going to, and why did you choose them?

I decided on Sonoma State because I saw multiple similarities in the programs of both my high school and Sonoma. My high school Head Coach, Coach Eric Borba, played for SSU and coaches there for a number of years. In addition, Sonoma was clear that they really wanted me to attend their university with their intent for me to get drafted. Along with baseball, was the education side. Sonoma has electrical engineering, and Sonoma’s head coach, Coach Goelz, directly saying to me that his focus on the educational side is to get all of his players graduating.

3. How did SportsForce help in the process?

SportsForce helped with communication to Coach and telling me the right questions to ask, along with how to do proper research on a team with record and players at my position.

4. What advice would you give to other players and parents with the recruiting process (ex. start early, get a highlight video)?

The advice I would give is that you do not have to feel rushed on recruiting and signing. While it is very helpful to start early, you do not have to freak out when your teammates are signing earlier then you are. You still have a chance, it will come if you’ve earned it.

5. How excited are you on your future in college?

I am extremely excited for my future at Sonoma State. I cannot wait to get on the ball field and compete against some older guys and further develop my skills on the field and in the classroom.

6. Would you recommend SportsForce to any other student-athletes? Why?

I would recommend SportsForce to other players because of all the resources that you will receive. I learned how to talk to college coaches and which questions to ask. The scripted email extremely helped with telling the coaches who I am and linking my videos.

Over the last 12 years, SportsForce has helped over 1,000 student-athletes and families successfully navigate the college recruiting and athletic scholarship process while saving families on average $80,000 in college expenses.

Read below, why we are different from every recruiting group in the country.

Why SportsForce is Different:

* View our Home Page Video Unlike most recruiting companies, we do not just partner with anyone for our hands-on recruiting programs.  Instead, we only partner with qualified players who meet our Five academic, athletic, and coachability selection factors

We evaluate between 10,000-12,000 players each summer and fall at top showcases and selectively advise, and advocate for only a limited number of players each year by directly contacting college coaches to help them maximize recruiting offers.

Each of our expert college recruiters is limited to how many players they will advise so there is the best combination of hands-on guidance and personal recruiting outreach to college coaches.
