Recommendation: I would like to take this opportunity to recommend that you consider Ms. Waverly Richards for a Division-1 libero position. I first came to know Waverly when my coaching staff selected her as a member of our Varsity Women's Volleyball Team at La Jolla High School. She made our varsity roster her freshmen year, and she has been an asset to our program ever since that time. Selection to our varsity team is based on attitude, sportsmanship, commitment, responsibility, discipline, leadership, dedication, and ability; Waverly is the type of person who consistently strives to fulfill all of these attributes at the highest levels.


As a freshman, Waverly earned a starting position on our varsity squad. She was named our team's Rookie of the Year and contributed throughout the season at high levels. This past year, she was selected to the San Diego City Conference - Western League Firs Team, which is a very difficult award to attain. Furthermore, Waverly was honored with a position on the San Diego-CIF Division III First Team. Coaches often comment on her stellar play after matches, and their opinions helped Waverly receive some of this deserved recognition during our 2011 season.


Waverly has outstanding hand-eye coordination and excellent vision-an attribute essential of the libero position. Her athleticism and demeanor on the floor only add to her high level of play. I hope you will consider her for any libero or defensive specialist position that she may seek.
