Recommendation:

It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Madison Reese (Madie), a most gifted athlete. I’ve known Maddie for 1 year, as her club field hockey coach. She is currently a very talented defender on the Del Norte High School Varsity team and on my San Diego Hot Stix Field Hockey Club team. Maddie is an excellent “team player”. Maddie has worked on becoming the best athlete she can be at her position. She has gone to camps, participated in futures and played on club teams. Maddie was one of the captains of the Varsity team that tied for 1st place in league in 2012. This last year her club team “San Diego Hot Stix” traveled to Florida to play in the Festival, traveled to Stockton to play at UOP coming in 2nd in their pool and to the California Cup at Moorpark finishing 1st in their pool; Maddie was an important player in the teams successful performances. Maddie has a strong presence on the field; she dominates the defense and transfers the ball to both sides of the field well. She has a strong hit and covers defenses well, she moves well on and off the ball. Her field hockey skills are excellent. Maddie has an excellent work ethic. Being an athlete is hard, and she did this and kept good grades while excelling in field hockey, her current GPA is a 3.6. She is talented and a hard working student athlete. Maddie is diligent, patient, conscientious, extremely motivated, and dedicated. Her personality has always been good-natured and she has a great attitude. Maddie has been a pleasure to work with, both on and off the field. Maddie is a born leader and she leads by her example. She always gives 110% and always strives to be the best. She never asks more than she is herself ready to give. She is an excellent role model for the younger players. She can motivate people around her to do bigger and better things. Maddie will graduate next June 2014 and will be sorely missed on the field and at Del Norte High School and on the San Diego Hot Stix Field Hockey club. I will miss her enthusiasm, dedication; and her can do attitude. It has been a pleasure to work with her this last year. No matter what Maddie selects to do with her life in the future, she will be successful.
