Recommendation: I am writing this letter in regard to Mackenzie Wheeler who is applying for scholarships,
and entrance into college, where she would also like to continue to play volleyball. I am
the Health and Fitness Department Head at Wenatchee High School and Mackenzie’s
U-18 Club Volleyball Coach. I have worked with Mackenzie for two years and she is
currently the Libero (back row specialist) on our Confluence Club Volleyball Team.
Mackenzie is a hard working, conscientious student as we as one of our team’s hardest
working players.

Mackenzie is currently a senior at Tonasket High School in the Running Start Program.
She carries a 3.01 GPA. Mackenzie plans to pursue her dream of becoming an Athletic
Trainer and/or Physical Therapist. It will be an honor to have someone of Mackenzie’s
integrity and work ethic in the medical field. Mackenzie is a quick learner who has the
ability to adapt easily to new situations and challenges. At Tonasket High School she is/
was involved in band (4 yrs), choir (1 yr), volleyball (4 yrs), club volleyball (3 yrs) and
softball (4yrs, club softball (1 yr).

Mackenzie has also accumulated many honors and awards throughout her high school
career. They include: Washington State Distinguished Scholar Award (4 yrs), 2011
Honorable Mention Libero, Caribou Trail League, 2011 Most Inspirational, 2011
Captain’s Award, Letterman (4 yrs), selected to participate in US Volleyball High
Performance A3 level program.

Mackenzie is also involved in her community as a volunteer firefighter for the Okanogan/
Tonasket Fire Department #4. Mackenzie also took the initiative to start the first Cadet
Program for the Tonasket Fire Department.

I feel that Mackenzie would be a great candidate for your scholarship, college, and team.
She will persevere and bring intelligence, hard work, flexibility and a positive attitude to
your school program. Thank you for your time and consideration.
