PERSONAL STATEMENT
What's not to enjoy as a student athlete. Being a student athlete gives me a purpose in my life. The goal to succeed inside and outside the lines motivates me to never give up. Baseball has taught me to persevere through adversity and to always believe I can do anything I want if I continue to try. I enjoy my teammates and friends on and off the field and feel a close relationship with my teammates as we have been playing baseball with each other since we were very young and will always be there

Describe Your Playing Style?: My style is cool, calm, and collected. The comment from my coach when I pitch is "You can't tell if James is losing by 10 or winning by 10 he's always the same."

My focus is intense and my demeanor is calm. I have a way of giving my team a chance to win even though things aren't rolling our way. Winning is very important to me but I know I am only one of the parts that gives us a chance to win. I am a team player and want to do well whether it's keeping stats, pinch running or toeing the mound. I lead by example and play hard when I'm on the field. I'm not a "Raw,Raw" guy but people know when I'm playing because I am intensely motivated to win, always.

Favorite Athlete(s) and why?: Justin Verlander, Duke Kahanamoku, Don Larson and David Wells (Coach Wells is my pitching coach).
Other activites and interests: Baseball, Surfing, Ocean sports, and music. I played bass in the orchestra and now play electric bass and guitar.
Who's been the biggest influence on my sports career and why?: My dad. My dad has always believed in me and works extra jobs so that I can play baseball. He was a college catcher and has won several lifeguarding events. My dad has taught me how to compete but play fair. To do things the best way you can always and never give up.
