Recommendation: Jimmy Budd class of 2012 is the Center for the Granite Hills Football team. He started all season at center and did a fantastic job as the leader of our offensive line in 2010. At the end of his Junior year he was named second team all Grossmont Hills League and second team All East County Sports. We asked him to take a leadership role by calling the huddle, announcing down and distance to the offense and making calls on the o-line. He showed excellent run blocking skills both in one on one situations and scoop blocking to linebackers. We ran a spread offense in 2010 and passed the ball often, the majority of the time in shotgun. Jimmy never had a bad snap. We also ran many screens and asked him to pull out in space and lead onto linebackers and defensive backs. He has tremendous footwork and excelled in blocking in space as well. Jimmy is also a hard worker who spends many hours on his own working on getting stronger. I look forward to having Jimmy as a returning player in 2011 and look forward to him being a leader of our team.
