Recommendation: To Whom It May Concern:
I am privileged to write in support of one of my football players, Tyler Rey. During this past year I witnessed his tremendous growth and development. This development came not only in the area of responsibility and leadership, but in maturity and character as well. I was able to rely on Tyler to lead our football squad both on and off the field.
I first met Tyler during summer football practices at Roseville High School. At first he was timid from taking the leadership role I saw within him. But soon, he learned his potential, and enjoyed the opportunity to take charge and command his position group. Tyler was a key player on our 2013 team, as a junior he earned a starting job and improved daily. He overcame a few obstacles during his junior year, including an injury that kept him sidelined for 3 weeks. Instead of missing practice, Tyler stayed involved with daily practice routines and the weekly game plan. When Tyler was able to come back to play he did not miss a stride.
Through football Tyler quickly learned how to manage his time, work in group situations, and to recognize the importance of a strong work ethic, persistence, and intellectual integrity. This past year he gained the respect of his teammates, I, coaching staff and teachers alike. These lessons he learned and mastered on the football field also carried over to his academic life. He has strived to achieve and attain the highest level of excellence in the classroom. While not in a class that I taught Tyler is constantly asking for assistance and guidance with his academics to ensure that he will be qualified and prepared not only for college but the world beyond it.
I recommend Tyler to your college with absolute confidence. He has made me proud, as a coach and a teacher at Roseville High School. I am sure will continue to do so as he grows in to a fine young man. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me through the information provided below.
