PERSONAL STATEMENT
A student athlete is a title I wear proudly. I love not only the challenge of balancing the school work and athletic work, but the friendships that I make along the way. I am now a senior in high school, and I have managed to maintain a 3.8 GPA, along with being a starting player on the varsity baseball team. Representing my school on and off the field is something that I cherish each and every day, and I enjoy the commitment to the team. Baseball is and always will be a huge part of my life, and my only goal is to play the sport for as long as I possibly can. I am looking forward to what my future has in store for me, and I am excited to pursue a career that I love.

Recommendation: Nick is an elite infielder who will contribute to a college program in the future. His mobility and range allows him to play any of the infield positions and has an above average arm to make all of the long throws from shortstop. Nick does a good job using his feet to put him in the best position to field a baseball. Offensively Nick has above average power for his size. As he grows and physically matures, his power will increase as well. He has a consistent swing that leads to hard contact. His speed gives opposing teams a challenge as well when he is on the bases. His aggressive approach and intelligent baserunning makes him a threat to steal any base. On the mound, Nick has a lot of potential to be a dominate pitcher. He has good feel for his breaking ball and changeup which compliments his above average fastball. Again, as he physically matures and develops, his stuff will improve even more.

Recommendation: Nick is a solid middle infielder with good actions showing range to both forehand and backhand plays. He moves well on the infield displaying strong arm strength on all throws. He also shows abilities as a two-way player as on the mound he really shines filling it up with 3 pitches and working downhill with authority. Fastball topping out at 82 to go along with off-speed at 67-68 range. At the plate he works from an open stance showing a solid swing making lots of hard contact. He is a very balanced hitter that takes aggressive swings in any count. Overall Nick’s athletic ability allows him to translate to multiple positions at the next level and will continue to project as a two-way player.

Recommendation: Nick Lustig is a elite player with great instincts, great mechanics, and great knowledge of the game. Nick works hard at achieving success both in the classroom and on the field. Nick would be an asset to any college program he attends.

Defensively: Nick is a true middle infielder who has great range, great feet, and great hands. Nick has an above average arm for his age and is only getting stronger. Nick always puts himself in the best position using his mechanics and range to make great plays. Nick is able to adjust with playing both sides of the diamond. Nick is Athletic enough to play multiple positions.

Offensively: Nick has a great balanced swing with above average power. Nick has quick hands and takes aggressive swings making solid contact.

Nick has good speed and is intelligent on the bases.

Pitching: Nick has above average arm strength, consistent on hitting his spots, and able to manipulate ball movement with his arm slot. Nick has great offspeed pitches and is able to throw them confidently on command with any count.

Personal: Nick has not taken his journey for granted. He has worked hard and has spent many hours on and off the field becoming a student athlete and a great young man. Off the field Nick has continued to give back to the game of baseball by teaching young players, and he speaks to them about challenges they may be having.

I look forward to seeing Nick’s success and I am sure he will make one college coach excited to have Nick play for him
