PERSONAL STATEMENT
I've played lacrosse for 6 years and it is my dream to play in college. I look forward to practices, have close relationships with my teammates, and think being on a team helps me focus not just on succeeding in athletics but also doing my best in all aspects of life. Having played competitive sports has helped me be confident to try new things and to learn from feedback and criticism. I know I have a lot to learn and look forward to pushing my lacrosse play to the next level.

Recommendation: I have coached Mackenzie Hall (Mac) since she was in the 5th grade. I have watched Mac evolve from a Scripps Ranch rec lacrosse player to a freshman Varsity starter at Cathedral Catholic High School. Mac has been and continues to be an integral part of our 2017 club team. She does the dirty work - ground balls, defense, moves the ball...and tallies solid scoring stats. She has played in several USL U15 Nationals, and has made numerous local and regional all star teams. Mac brings passion and a love for the game to every lacrosse activity. Be it practice, a scrimmage, or a game - Mac wants to play her best, help her team improve, and reap the rewards of all the hard work up to that point. Her increased focus on advanced play making the past 9 months has positioned her well to play at the NCAA level in college. At the most recent President's Cup Mac volunteered to play additional games for teams that were short players - including a tough game versus 2015 Capital Blue where she was matched up with D1 recruited seniors and held her own & scored at least once. I believe Mac will continue to grow as a player, expand her offensive play making ability, and develop her lacrosse IQ to a level capable of not just competing, but contributing meaningfully to a top program. The key for Mac's growth has been her hard work on and off the field - I am confident she will continue to improve through senior year because she knows that she has to work for her dream.

I have continued to press Mac to put forth the same effort in school as she does at lacrosse. Over the past few semesters she has continued to increase her performance in the classroom. CCHS mandates a rigorous academic load and Mac could easily take a lighter load at public school and find a solid lacrosse program to transition into. That said, I am proud of her for staying the course and working as hard in the classroom as she does on the field.

In closing, Mac is a great person - full of life and vitality. She is an emotional leader and great teammate on and off field. Some of her strongest friendships are through lacrosse - to include players from as far away as 60 miles from home. Mac helps bring the team together - an asset that will serve her well in leadership positions on future teams.

Recommendation: Mackenzie is a standout player both on and off the field. She not only has a lot of talent as a lacrosse player but she has the potential to be a leader to her teammates. Mackenzie has an innate way to make plays happen on the offensive end of the field. She was able to play varsity as a freshman and not only play substantial minutes but contribute to the success of our team. Mackenzie will not only be a great asset on the field on a collegiate team but she will be an asset to the school community as a whole.
