PERSONAL STATEMENT
I wasn't supposed to live, statistically speaking. At birth my parents were given less than a 10% survival rate and things went downhill from there. I was born septic with Group B Strep. My heart, lungs and kidneys all shut down and I was placed on life support to wait and see. Needless to say, I fought and I lived. Now I realize that only statistics that really matter to me are in baseball, not medicine. I don't remember a day when I didn't play baseball. It has carried me through my hardest days and brought me moments where I realize how awesome life really is. Baseball even helped me raise over $16k dollars for St Baldricks to aid pediatric cancer research. I am a proud multi sport athlete. My Freshman and Sophomore year I played Baseball, Basketball, and Football. Sports are in my DNA and I don't see a day down the road when I won't be active and playing one. I am happiest when I am on the field being coached, with my teammates, battling for a victory. As a result of my past, I do realize that victories are different than wins and they come in many shapes and forms during the season, and I know the importance of seeing them and respecting them.

Recommendation: RE: Jordan Greenly Letter of Recommendation

As the head baseball coach at Del Oro High School in Loomis California and having the opportunity to work with Jordan Greenly (grad 2020) the last three years, I am confident he has the skills, character and passion to significantly contribute on and off the field at the highest collegiate level.

Successful high school baseball programs start with a core set of players that lead by example and possess the ability to raise the skills and effort of everyone around them. Jordan Greenly is that ‘guy’. From the moment he stepped on campus, he has been a standout, 3-sport student-athlete. In his sophomore year (2018), Jordan was a cornerstone of the varsity baseball team’s Sac Joaquin Section finalist run as the starting shortstop and leadoff batter. As the team’s Offensive Player of the Year and All Sierra Foothill League honoree, Jordan is a high contact hitter with power and a strong OBP. In the field, he has plus arm strength, quick feet/hands and attacks the ball. On the bases, he anticipates well and carries plus speed.

As a Junior, Jordan has collegiate level skills in virtually every category. What sets him apart are his intangibles - baseball IQ, drive, character, leadership, competitiveness, coach-ability, confidence, and an engaged family support network. On campus, he is a leader and someone that I rely on to carry the baseball program’s brand perception. His peers would say that he is courteous, genuine, empathetic and responsible.

As a former division one player, current high school head baseball coach and business executive, I am confident that Jordan’s value as a baseball player and contributor to our society will only continue to gain value in years to come.

Please call, text or email with questions about Jordan. I look forward to connecting with you.
