PERSONAL STATEMENT
I've always been a pretty speedy guy. I love running and staying healthy as well as competing. I'm always up for working out and getting better, and I've never felt the urge to sneak away from practice to avoid hard work. I love getting better at what I do, even if it's not easy all the time. Mainly I just like to have fun running in any way shape or form.

Other activites and interests: Improv club at school, video games, reading, listening to music, watching movies, running, adventure racing, charity 5k's/Half marathons
Who's been the biggest influence on my sports career and why?: I think if there was one person in the sporting world who inspires me more than anyone else, it's the American distance runner Steve Prefontaine. A year ago, I didn't even know who Pre was. I'm not sure exactly how I found out about him. But I know that in the time since I moved to California and decided to fully commit myself to running, Pre has been my biggest inspiration as a competitor. His famous quote, "To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift" lights a fire in me every time I hear it. Using Pre as an example has changed the kind of runner and racer that I am.
About Me: I'm a level-headed, open-minded person. I get along with all kinds of people and have a good sense of when it is a good time to joke around and when it is time to get down to business. Sitting down and watching a movie or playing video games is therapeutic to me. A little relaxing time is the secret ingredient to my successes. I love history class and history in general, AP US History in Junior year was one of my all time favorite classes.
