Sports have been a major part of my life for as long as I can remember. I enjoy and appreciate the competition, the discipline it requires and instills, and especially the lasting relationships made with coaches and teammates. I know that I am a better student and person because of sports. I plan to play both basketball and baseball throughout my high school career and then earn a scholarship and play baseball throughout college. I also plan to give back as a mentor and coach to younger players well after my career is through.

Recommendation: Going into the 2017 Spring Baseball season, we thought Brett was just about ready (as a sophomore) to make a meaningful contribution to the Evergreen HS Baseball Varsity squad. Just to get him some additional competitive reps, we initially assigned Brett to the JV squad where he immediately had great success. When it became clear that we needed some additional help in the bullpen at the Varsity level, we moved Brett up only 5 games into the season. One of his initial outings was against eventual State Champion Valor Christian. Brett was very effective in relief against Valor, tossing several shut-down innings and from that point on-he played a prominent role in our pitching plans and eventually helped lead us to the Colorado 4A State Championship Game. In particular, we called on Brett to pitch key innings during our State Playoff run and he performed very effectively in every single outing.

Brett has a very high baseball IQ and tremendous mound presence. He is an excellent student and one of the most coachable athletes I've ever worked with. At this point, he has a plus breaking ball that he can throw in any situation or count and can effectively spot his FB. He is working on increasing the FB velo and I see him as a mid-80's+ arm by the time he enters his senior year of high school.

As a former D2 pitching coach, I see Brett as a next level arm who will make a very meaningful contribution to a collegiate staff.

Recommendation: Strengths:
Brett is a very coachable, attentive and driven player. He has a tall lanky frame which will serve him well as we continues to develop and gain size and strength. His project-able size should make him an asset to any program looking to add a quality arm and a quality player.

Recommendation: I have coached Brett Bokelman for two years now. As a former college coach who is now coaching at the High School level, he is the type of student-athlete that I would have liked to have had on my college team (D2). Brett has the size but needs to add strength and weight. This will come, we are aggressively working on that. Brett is an exceptional student and understands the importance of academics. Brett is on my 2018 depth chart as a starting pitcher who has worked hard fine tuning his command, control and now velocity. His control has improved along with his velocity. Our program adheres to most of the teachings of Driveline Baseball. I am always available to discuss Brett and one of my main goals is to get him into a strong college baseball program that will continue to work with him.
