Ashton is a delightful young woman who comes from a family that embodies the traits necessary for her success at the next level: a supportive family dynamic with strong values, a visible work ethic, maturity beyond her years and a competent skill set in golf. I have had the privilege of knowing her family for almost eight years and have seen Ashton make significant progress in her golf game in a very short period of time.
In late 2015, Ashton sustained a significant ACL injury in soccer, necessitating her early retirement from that sport. Rather than giving up athletics, Ashton persevered and chose to focus all of her athletic ability on golf. The injury has become a potential blessing in disguise as I am sure you are aware of her impressive accomplishments on the course over the past 16 months. Imagine how good she will be in five years? She has the potential to be a significant contributor to her college team.
I strongly encourage you to take the time to discuss Ashton's goals and ambitions with her. I am confident you will find her to be the type of leader you would want on your team.
