My name is Aaron Kolotkin, I am the Head Varsity Baseball Coach for San Rafael High School. I am writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Angelo Zorn. I have had the pleasure of coaching Angelo for two years; after getting to know him and watching him mature over that time I would recommend him without hesitation for anything he needed a recommendation for.

Angelo represents everything that you would want to showcase for an outstanding student athlete. On the baseball field Angelo plays at the highest level. I can confidently place Angelo anywhere on the field without hesitation. As a hitter he anchors our lineup by hitting in the third spot, a position typically given to the team’s best hitter. Angelo exhibits tremendous leadership skills on the field. He is the measuring stick that the other players aspire to emulate. His class, work ethic, willingness to learn and overall positive attitude make coaching him a true pleasure.

With regards to Angelo’s performance in the classroom, to call it impressive would be a gross understatement. Angelo carries a very challenging course load and consistently maintains a very high GPA. The GPA alone would be impressive if he wasn’t participating in athletics; however, what makes it particularly incredible is that he maintains this GPA while still participating in all the practices and games that being in a sport requires. This kind of time management as a high school student is very rare and shows the kind of maturity and discipline that Angelo possesses.

In my professional life, my primary occupation is as a Project Manager for a Microwave Company that provides a low latency microwave network to High Frequency Traders. I'm in a position where I have to evaluate talent on a regular basis in regards to hiring qualified candidates that will perform well in a fast paced, high stress environment. Having known Angelo for a few years, I have had ample time to observe his character. I can honestly say that this is an individual who if given an opportunity will exceed all expectations. This is a student who I have no doubt will succeed in whatever academic/athletic environment he attends as well as who I sincerely believe will be a success as well as a shining example to whatever University/Program he commits to once his high school career is complete.
