Recommendation: As the Head Baseball Coach at Summit High School, I am pleased to write this recruiting letter for Andrew Miller. Andrew is an extraordinary young man and I have long been impressed by his diligence and work ethic. He consistently demonstrates an ability to rise to any challenge and always leads by example. As his coach, I have never have to question his attendance or effort.
Andrew is a very versatile player. Defensively, he plays very solid outfield, often showing off his above-average speed and arm-strength. He has also played catcher and third base when needed. Offensively, I trusted him in the middle of our batting order because I knew he could mentally handle any situation. He shows the patience to use all parts of the field at the plate. He showed good pop as a sophomore and is very smart on the base paths. With two more high school seasons ahead of him, I believe Andrew can become a more consistent contact hitter and a terror on the base paths. Overall, Andrew shows the physical ability, size, and determination to play at a higher level in the future.
Please feel free to contact me to speak further.

Recommendation: It is a pleasure for me to write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Andrew Miller. I have known Andrew for four years now as a player on my football team here at Summit High School and as a student in the middle school. Of all the student athletes I have coached in my tenure, Andrew stands among the elite not for just his natural ability or special skills, but for his attitude and compassion for his teammates and the game. He is the type of student/athlete that will do whatever he can, not for his benefit, but for the benefit of the team or program. He excels in the fact that success means sacrifice, sometimes harder than expected. Andrew accepts whatever hand he is dealt and thrives on competition. I feel that Andrew will be a great addition to your team and will thrive in whatever task he is given. If I can be of more assistance in any other way, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Recommendation: Andrew is a young man whom I have had the privilege of coaching in baseball and football. During this time, I have come to appreciate his many fine qualities, while watching him grow as a player and a person. The quality I value most in Andrew is that he has the mindset of a champion. This mindset has enabled Andrew to analyze his deficiencies and work to improve, not be defeated, by them. As a coach I find mindset to be more important than talent, but Andrew has both.

During Andrew’s freshman year in High School the football team needed a quarterback. To fill this position, the unanimous choice of the football coaches was Andrew, despite the fact that he had never before thrown a football, and it was only his second year playing the sport. The decision was made because of Andrew’s athletic ability, his ability to perform under pressure and his character. Andrew’s character has enabled him to dig down deep and find strength even when things are going against him. As Coach John Wooden said “I believe ability can get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there.”

As a baseball player Andrew Miller will be an asset to your program on and off the field. With his growth mindset and character he is up to any challenge. No one will outwork Andrew and he will encourage those around him. If you are looking for a player who will work hard, keep his focus under pressure, deliver results and who can stretch beyond his abilities than I strongly encourage you to give Andrew strong consideration.
